Leipzig in Times of Transition (walking tour)

We invite you to experience a time travel into the past – at least intellectually. Visit the most important and interesting places regarding the transition of the political system in East Germany from a communist regime to a liberal democracy.  For example see the St. Nicholas’ Church, one of the most famous churches in Germany thanks to the Monday Demonstrations in 1989 – a series of peaceful political protests against the authoritarian government of the German Democratic Republic. The non-violent revolution started in Leipzig and became an impulse for the entire GDR. The participants are remembered as a significant part of German history, especially of German unification initiating an important change.

Lipsikus (tour for children)

The exciting youth museum Lipsikus and the very old and famous city hall of Leipzig, located directly in the heart of the city centre are part of the city history museum area. The program is split into three parts. At first the children will climb the tower of the old city hall to have a great view over some districts of Leipzig. Afterwards they are going to discover the dark and mysterious dungeon in the cellar – maybe they will find the treasury? The second part will be a one-hour-show of an excellent magician who introduces the kids into a world of fascinating tricks and illusions. As final activity the group will rebuild Leipzig as a three-dimensional puzzle.

Walking Tour

Berlin's charm derives in good part from its ability to change its appearance in no time. Passing a couple of sights already by bus you will be amazed by the mix of old and modern architecture Berlin has to offer. Enjoy your day in the vibrant and colourful capital of Germany. You will experience the pulsating metropolis from its most beautiful sides within an interesting walking tour. Visit the representative Potsdamer Platz and of course the famous Brandenburg Gate. Continue on the noble boulevard Unter den Linden to see the German State Opera, Berlin Cathedral, the square of  Gendarmes Market, and the restored  Reichstag, seat of the German parliament with its new glass cupola. See the most interesting sights of the capital.

The restaurant Zollpackhof is located in the city centre offering an amazing view at the new governmental district. The beer garden with its big 130 years old chestnut tree in the middle invites to enjoy the amazing view over the river Spree. Historical Ship Cruise

Berlin offers plenty of colourful impressions and a vibrant city life. Take a break and enjoy a relaxing one hour cruise where you can watch closely some of the most beautiful places and impressive archi-tectural creations: TV Tower, Palace of Republic, Berlin Cathedral, Museum Island, Reichstag (seat of the German Parliament), Government Quarter, House of the World’s Cultures and Nikolaiviertel. Travel by bus to Dresden and get a chance to discover the city called as well ‘Florence at the river Elbe’. After a two hour bus tour you will arrive at Dresden to enjoy an audio guided tour through the ‘Grünes Gewölbe’, the spectacular treasure chamber, will be arranged - one of the richest collections of Europe offering fascinating objects of gold, silver and bronze, decorated with eye-catching jewels. After lunch your English speaking guide will introduce you to all of the most important landmarks as the well known Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) or the Semperoper, the opera house of the Saxon State Opera Dresden during a walking tour through the city centre.
